Alex Pipes Group
Alex Pipes is an Auckland based guitarist and composer. Jazz educated, with influences spanning across jazz, house, funk, hip hop and rock, Alex’s myriad of musical influences unexpectedly fuse together to provide a fresh sound to the world of contemporary jazz.
Almost two years since his Emerging Artist CJC, Alex returns to the Anthology stage, performing a set of his compositions and arrangements with his current sextet consisting of some of Auckland’s finest musicians: Andrew Isdale, Joe Kaptein, Wil Goodinson, Elijah Whyte, & Ron Samsom.
