Lauren Nottingham Quartet
Lauren Nottingham is a Wellington-based jazz singer with a multifarious background, drawing on a diverse stylistic palette of music including jazz, progressive rock, choral and Latin American music.
Since forming upon Lauren's return from a year in Berlin, her quartet have been performing regularly across the Wellington jazz scene, including playing to a packed out audience for the 2018 Wellington Jazz Festival. In November/December 2017, the group embarked on their debut 10-date Australasian tour, featuring as an international act in the Melbourne Women's International Jazz Festival.
This concert represents a new direction for the group, breaking from entertaining audiences with quirky standard repertoire to present their original works and collaborations for the first time. Taking inspiration from moods and moments of nostalgia as well as whatever strikes at the time of writing, this will prove to be a varied and fresh mix of sounds and words.
