Callum Allardice: "Elementa"
Acclaimed guitarist and composer Callum Allardice embarks on North Island tour to present exciting new album Elementa.
Drawing influences from Blonde Redhead, Brian Blade, and Terrence Blanchard, the new album is imbued with moody cinematic drama and features folksy, song-like melodies set over rich, sweeping harmony.
A three-time winner of the APRA Composition Competition and recipient of the Recorded Music NZ Te Kaipuoro Tautito Toa | Best Jazz Music Artist award with his group The Jac, Callum needs no introduction to CJC audiences.
Joining Callum are long-time collaborators pianist Luke Sweeting (Sydney), double bassist Thomas Botting (Sydney), and Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa (Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington) rounding out the quartet on drums.
